STAY IN HELL
We rent six different cabins in the area.
The smallest cabins are perfect for a small break on a trip, and the bigger ones spend a longer time.
You can find the booking status and prices of the largest Kankijärvi cabin in the booking calendar, and ask about the situation of other cabins directly from us. Cabins can often be found even at short notice, so contact us!
CABIN KANKIJÄRVI
Cabin Kankijärvi is located just a short walk from the gate of the national park, on the shores of peaceful Kankijärvi. It is also a short trip to our home farm to get to know wild boars and ostriches.
Completed in 1998, the log cabin has a floor area of 50 square meters, of which 32 square meters is living area and the rest is a terrace. The loft has space for about 20 square meters, and there is sleeping places for four (2 + 2). If you like really to sleep in spoon (heh) or and even sleep on the couch, there is room for up to eight.
The equipment includes:
fireplace
stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker and TV
toilet indoors (not in winter)
a separate sauna building with a fireplace room
private beach with pier, diving tower and rowing boat
All animals are welcome!
GATEKEEPER'S HUTS 1 , 2 & 3
Need just a short stay with a small group?
In that case, Gatekeeper’s huts, completed in the summer of 2021, and in summet 2024 are a great option!
These small but cozy little cottages are located right on the edge of Kankimäki and the restaurant’s parking area, literally at the gates of Hell.
All cottages have a total of four sleeping places, a refrigerator, a hob, a microwave and a coffee maker. Gatekeeper’s huts 1 & 2 both have 2 bunk beds and gatekeepers’s hut 3 has a double bunk bed. There is no running water in cabins.
Bed linen, sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases and towels can be rented from us for a small fee. We also have access to shower and sauna. The shower and toilet facilities, where you will also find a babysitting table, can be found near and are open around the clock. A stone’s throw away is also a yurt sauna for rent, offering great steam, and private shore of which you can also take a dip in the lake. It is also not a long way to our home farm to greet ostriches and wild boars.
Wc and shower are not open in winter. There is some huts (outdoor wc) nearby.

CABIN HELL'S LIMBO
Cabin Hell’s Limbo is as fresh a newcomer as the Gatekeeper’s huts, completed in the summer of 2021. Like Gatekeeper’s huts, Limbo is a great option if you are only looking for a temporary place to spend the night, for example while hiking travelling. Of course you can stay as long as you want!
The cabin is located a little closer to the national park, but still in the area of Kankimäki and the restaurant. A fridge, microwave, hob and coffee maker are included. There is no running water in the cottage. There is accommodation for eight people: one double-size bunk bed and two single-size bunk beds.
Bed linen, sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases and towels can be rented from us for a small fee. We also have access to shower and sauna. The shower and toilet facilities, where you will also find a babysitting table, can be found right next door and are open around the clock. THE SMALL CABIN - PIKKUPIRTTI
If you only want a small place to sleep in the middle of a summer trip, for example, Pikkupirtti is a great solution. This small cottage is located in the backyard of our home, right next to the ostrich fences – however, your own peace is guaranteed.
Pikkupirtti was originally completed sometime in the 19th century. Since that it has operated as a dryer and the building has been drying grain for many generations. Since the 1960s, it has been used as a warehouse and accommodation. It experienced its new arrival in the autumn of 2009, when the renovation was completed and it began to be rented to tourists.
The cottage has two double beds and a sofa bed (sleeping places for 5-6 people), bath furniture and a refrigerator. Much more can’t a 10 square foot cabin handle.
Bed linen, sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases and towels can be rented from us for a small fee. We also have access to shower, as well to sauna. There is a new and clean hut (outdoor toilet) on the corner, and the cottage has electric heating. The distance to the Lake Luomajärvi, where we have made a child-friendly sandy beach, is about 50 meters, and you also have a rowing boat at your disposal.

Bring your trip to life with decent steam!
In the handmade yurt, you get great steams, and between them it is nice to take a dip in Lake Kankijärvi to cool off.
The wild boars and ostriches on our farm are funny animals that you can visit freely. During the summer, you can also see many other animals in the restaurant’s yard.
On the shore of our home farm you can go for a dip in Lake Luomajärvi. The beach is sandy and slowly descending. There is also a free tent area on the beach and a barbecue area is available to everyone!
